Option #1; Side Control > Dope Mount > Full Mount

- Hero is in high ‘Reverse Kesa’
- Hero R Hand -> Opp L Knee; Hero pulls Opp L knee R -> Ground
- Hero forward steps R Leg -> (OH) Opp L Leg (AST) Hero pivots hips to drop R Hip -> ground
- Hero is now in ‘Dope Mount’
- Opp is now on R Side

- Hero can now come to full mount by stepping/slidding R leg -> Opp L Hip Area and on to the mat on the Opp L side.
Option #2: Side Control > Dope Mount > Full Mount
- Hero is in Standard R Side Control
- Hero L Arm -> Back of Opp Neck,
- Hero R Arm (UH) -> Opp L Armpit; Hero Hand -> Opp L Shoulder
- Hero R Arm (UH -‘underhook’) -> Opp R Leg/Thigh(from outside to inside) and (OH-‘overhook’) Opp Left Leg/Thigh (inside to outside).
- this position makes it very difficult for the Opp to turn into you.
- Hero R Hand ends up hooking Opp L Thigh
- Hero steps R Leg/Knee -> Opp R Leg; Hero uses body and R Leg to drive Opp on to L side.
- Opp L Leg is on the bottom and R Leg will be driven into the ground
- Hero R Leg/shin traps Opp L Leg -> ground
- Hero switches knees by bringing L Knee between Opp legs and posting R Leg -> R
- This position is generally called the ‘dope mount’
- Hero ‘crossfaces’ Opp by driving R shoulder to Opp neck/face
- this flattens Opp out on to back and shoulders
- Hero R Knee slides into Opp L Chest/Side
- Hero comes to full mount by stepping L leg to Opp R Chest/Side
The Instructor in the following video does a great job of demonstrating Option #2. This video was posted in Youtube by BQuick Jiu Jitsu Europe. At the end of the video you can watch students practicing the transition.
